PASKO SA UPLB

I must say that this year, the university went all out with the decorations for Christmas. I mean, you can feel that it really is Christmas because of the decorations. The lights are awesome and so pretty, they shine so brightly. They're really mesmerizing. The humongous Christmas tree is also a big plus. Its decorations, lights and the big star on top looks so wonderful. And the little house on the ground is also a cute effect. It makes it look homey.

The belen at the entrance shows us,the passers' by that we shouldn't forget the real reason why we celebrate this season which is the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. The gift giving and a lot of food eating are all done to celebrate His birth. The lights around the belen and stable are well placed and enlightens the whole scene. The stable also looks beautiful. It looks so real; it would be fun to actually enter and go to the second floor and just stare at it. The three kings also looks so dashing with their silk capes. They are so colorful.

On the other side of the belen is Santa with his rein deers. It's so pretty. So bright and very AWESOME!!! The way how the deers are connected by the lights just lits it up. The sleigh was done well too. It's just weird that Santa was standing on the sleigh and not sitting though.
Anyway.....

Merry Christmas
and
Happy New Year

LINUX vs. WINDOWS

ROUND 1 - Memory Loss

Linux uses way less memory than Windows. About 512MB RAM and a 800MHz processor is needed to install Windows program while the Ubuntu or Linux only requires about 64MB RAM and a 300MHz processor.

ROUND 2 - Mr. Popularity

Windows is more popular so it is more common for people to use it. Since some people take time to adjust, it's harder for them to learn the ways and skills in using Linux. Windows is actually more user-friendly than Linux because it is what people is more used at. Also, most programs are "wired" in a Windows fashion, which means that you have to install more programs for it to be compatible with your Linux. Also, in times of trouble, there are more people who know about the ups and downs in fixing Windows than Linux.

ROUND 3 - EEEWWWW-VIRUS, CRASH!

Linux is less likely to be infested with viruses. Unlike Windows, there is no need to install any anti-virus programs. No more worries in inserting different USBs in your computer or laptop. Also, there have been no sign of any crashing of Linux yet unlike Windows where the crashes of computers are very common.

ROUND 4 - SHOW ME THE MONEY!

Windows pretty much empties your wallet when you use it. On the other hand, Linux can be obtained freely, no need for money. Also, it has no one-is-to-one ratio. It can be downloaded and installed in different computers since it's free.

THE WINNER BY K.O. - LINUX!!

TOP 10 THINGS I FORGET WHEN I LOG IN THE INTERNET

1. My purpose for logging in.
When I have to search for my homework or something for class I forget what it is when I log in. It takes me about 2 to 3 hours or even after I log out to remember it. I easily get distracted by other things, especially if I log in to YouTube or Facebook.

2. Songs I want to download.
This happens a lot. I even write it down but forget where I placed the paper I wrote on.
3. The time.
Do you ever have that moment wherein you're so engrossed in something that when you look up or away from it, the day's almost over. Well, that happens a lot to me when I'm netting, especially when the net connection is free. Haha.

4. My chores.
In line with forgetting the time, I forget my chores when I start surfing the net. It's a bad distraction because I always get scolded at when I leave my chores. One minute I'm cooking fish, the next it get's burned and I'm listening to my mom yelling at me for leaving it. Like right now, I forgot I was cooking pancakes. (Good thing nobody's home but me. Haha.)

5. Eating.
Yeah, this sucks. My stomach forgets to function when I'm in front of the computer and surfing the net. Only when I'm really hungry, then does it function. Then, I have to wait a few minutes because I have to cook, then it gets burned or forgotten so I have to make another one or reheat it.

6. My assignment.
Again, this sucks. I only remember my assignment when I'm running out of money, and the time has gone so  long.

7. My bladder.
It's not like I forget to hold my bladder. I don't pee on my pants when I'm surfing the net, I just forget that I have to pee when I'm in front of the computer. So, when I look away, I really, really have to pee so I run to the comfort room.

8. My username or password.
This doesn't happen a lot but it does happen. Now, it's easier to retrieve though, since websites have the "Forgot your password" questions, and it's quicker than ramming your head to remember.

9. Amount of money I have.
This happened once, I forgot I didn't withdraw money and I went in an internet shop. I stayed there for a while, wasting my time. When it was time to pay, I barely had enough but thankfully I did.

10. Self-control (well, not all the time)
When I see or read something posted on the net, I can't stop but read or watch it immediately. Even though I know I should stop, sometimes I just continue like I have all the money and time in the world. It sucks.
